Educational Events

The CHD community is facing a problem it is happy to have. In general, kids with CHD are living longer and fuller lives than ever before. For example, some of the surgeries for single ventricle kids (basically, kids who have half a heart) are only 20 years old and have been continually refined. With longer and fuller lives, these kids are facing a new set of developmental and health challenges as they age. Staying on top of the latest research and maintaining awareness is difficult.

We seek to bring available resources within the community together for various educational events to help address this challenge. For example, we have facilitated events with experts from our local hospitals to talk about the latest research on developmental issues and provide their guidance to our families. We may also advertise events held by other groups for our community.

These events are important to help families stay informed, so they can make decisions about care and better understand what the future holds.

If you have an idea for an educational event or if you are a researcher or medical professional interested in presenting, please contact us!
